Fun thread. I really enjoy using these Herdim picks whenever I play my
electric. I have to order them since I can't buy them locally, but such is
life. I like flipping them and picking the strings with the dimpled side. It
adds a character to the sound---a shimmer. Aural chatoyance might be
the best way to describe it since a better word escapes me.

      But I do like the nipples! I take, typically, a Fender Xheavy and take after it with the 40 grit until it looks back in abject terror that it was ever shiny!

I use the cheap plastic picks that you get at most music stores. I found a music store going out of business and bought a wooden box full of them a number of years ago (think hundreds of picks).

While I was in a Contemporary Christian rock band, it would not be unusual for me to go through a pick in one night. I play with my pick hitting the strings at a slight angle, and this has a tendency to wear the tip down to nothing and them break off rather quickly. I always keep a pick butterfly with several picks handy just in case this happens.

I love those picks, they are amazing, if not a little too expensive.

Talk about conspicuous consumption--BUT they are beautiful.
